The second game this week at the Cardinal's Wargaming Cubby house..so far only available in face book..it has taken two hours to do that..played today in around 4 hours, things go quite fast when Vandenburgers are involved...

so Vorlund fielded a column of 3 Grenadier brigades on Blaue Hügel..on the right.. and then two lines in the centre of two colums of 3 fusliers positioned on Langkamm and to their left of the secured in the village of Boydhof was a column of 3 fusliers... to the right of the grendiers on the extrem right in lurked the pandours and the just behind them irregular hussars that were part of this command , there was a positional battery to the right of the grenadiers and another to the left of the front line of the centre . Behind the battery on the right was a Cavalry column of 2 cuirassier brigades and adragoon brigade..while on the very left there was another identical brigs
thus
3 brigades of pandour, 1 brigade of irregular hussars two cavalry colum each comprise two cuirassier brigades and a dragoon brigade.. two gun batteris and a column of 3 grenadier brigades and 3 columns of 3 fusilier brigades.. a largish force representing about to 45,000
15 infantry , 2 guns, 3 pandour 1 hussar 6 cavalry break point of 9..

The forces of Vandenburg were,
on the right a command of two cuirassiers and a command of an hussar and dragoon..Willow and Boyd were a little dismayed to find out about Prussian hussars and how they seriously challenged the popular concept of light cavalry..Then there was one of those infernal positional guns , which tooled about forever and cost any number of command dice to get into a position to fire and hit???
On their flank was a front line of 3 brigades of Grenadiers and a second line of 3 brigades of musketeers..great things expect of these mighty heroes, though twice they stopped to discuss the bloody weather... on their flank was another column of 3 muskteers , who in the long run, were bloody murderers!
On their flank was the left..the bloody left,.. 2 cuirassier ,an hussar and a dragoon and 3 brigades of Feikorp, tthe latter responsible with cossing the open ground and bringing death and destructin to their like types in the wood... dream on..it would seem that having the band on to play was a big mistsake..it was a stop start sort of flank with a lot of stopping and fartarsing around with the Vorlund cavalry and the Vandenburg cavalry being careful to stay clear of the wood and hoping the pandour would go crazy and leave its protction to be cut down in the open...no such luck. though Willow had a brief moment of Irregulat Hussar self inflicted madness.. for Newbies they used their heavy cavalry very well I and I couldn't destroy any more than one of them..they did learn quickly the rally roll..and..so it was down to the infantry, which to be fair won the battle in two turns when they reached the hill and ridge ..and if we had played on and finished turn 7 they would have annihilated 3/4s of the line infantry..they did it for half of them as it was..very much the moving like a wall thing
so the Vandenburgers fielded 4 cuirassier brigades , 2 dragoon brigades, 2 hussar brigades 3 freikorps(uselesss bastards) brigades, 3 grenadier brigdes, 6 musketeer brigades and two gun batteries.
both commands were commanded by Good commanders and Boyd and willow got the hang of using these decisvly very early
so suprem thanks to the Willow .Boydelli and Rhino..RF-2 next week?after we(I) reposition the table?

the left
Image
centre left, while intended to be the support for the grenadier column, they ended up spearheading the infantry attack
Image
centre right..the hoped for "hammer" but they all dawdled a bit
Image
the right .. did well..found Vorlund guns easier to smack than Vorlund infantry with secure flanks..though they did kneck a cuirassier brigade..
a fine game, possibly a little overwhelming for Newbies but if willow had got there on time he would have been the Prussian and it may have been a bit instructional,,however you do learn a lot when facing Prussians..

Was this a game from the campaign?

211 points of Vandenburgs vs 165 points of Vorlundsers (173 if they were grenadiers)

Bad day to be a Vorlunder :)

no it was a demo game, meant to be played by
Willow against Boyd, as willow was an hour late and people had to be places at a certain time Boyd and I started and when Willow came he went onto Boyd's side, having missed the preamble etc.. ..I wasn't intending to play at all
