Hahahahaha....nice one.
The Crochet Guard....hmmm sounds like one of Cardys Alice in Wonderland units. I see pastel colours maybe lemon yellow coats with powder blue cuffs and apricot pants/stockings. The flag....crossed crochet coat hangers with Mary had a little lamb toilet roll covers in each quarter. The Scrap Book horse guard could be another option as well.....lots of glitter on these chaps.

Rusting hulks....? (sorry!) I'd guess some nice T-72s with all the shiny posh bits the Soviets had on them removed, and I'd paint them in Vallejo Iraqi Sand. Emplaced in some berms, awaiting the fleets of Abrams........ :-)
